We are delighted to have scooped the title of “Scottish Independent Furniture Retailer of the Year 2019” at the Scottish Independent Retailer Awards.
At a time when retailing is highly featured in the news for all the wrong reasons we are delighted to pick up the award for the fourth consecutive year. The glittering awards ceremony took place at Glasgow’s Hospitality Inn last Tuesday night when independent retailers from all over Scotland gathered to celebrate their achievements in what is an increasingly difficult climate.
Speaking about the award win, Bruce Dick, Managing Director at John Dick & Son commented: “I’m delighted to collect this award on behalf of the whole team at John Dick & Son, it is deserved recognition for all of their hard work over the last year. Retailing has changed enormously since the company was founded in 1954, perhaps never more so than in the past 4 years, we are delighted with the way our team has risen to the challenge of modern retailing and that we continue to provide a very personal service to all of our customers.”
We offer an extensive range of high-quality furniture and we attribute much of our success to the reputation we enjoy with some of the best manufacturers in the world. These relationships enable us to negotiate exclusive deals with many of our suppliers. Bruce Dick said: “As a third–generation business, we have long-established relationships with some of the best furniture makers in the UK and Europe, this helps us to bring a very eclectic mix of furniture into the showroom. Our suppliers are very important to us and are a huge part of our success.”
We have enjoyed a busy start to 2019 with the recent completion of a refurbishment project for the luxurious ship, the Hebridean Princess. Coincidently, it’s the fourth year in a row that we have worked on the ship to assist with their ongoing refurbishment programme.
