Last week we brought you a large selection of pictures from the furniture trade shows and manufacturers showrooms we visited in January.  Judging from the amount of times the blog post has been shared, it was a post that interested lots of you.  We will try to bring you more of this content throughout the year.

What you may not realise is that not all visitors to these trade shows are allowed to take pictures.  We were able to take them because we are a trusted retailer with long established relationships with many of the leading British furniture design and manufacturing businesses.

It is an increasing trend for ‘trade’ visitors to appear at the show and take many detailed pictures of the latest furniture for the specific purpose of copying it.  Most of these visitors are form overseas where they perhaps don’t have the design flare or knowledge of the UK market – but they do have cheap labour!

That’s why John Dick & Son always bring you the best brand names; they are not necessarily the biggest brand names, but they are trusted brands that invest in design and development. They are also brand that we have dealt with over our 60 years in the furniture trade.

Like so many other independent retailers we talked to at these exhibitions, we are keen to protect reputable manufacturers and to encourage them to continue to produce innovate and creative designs.  If they keep bringing originality to the table, we can keep offering you that special, and often unique, piece that suits your home.

Many of the pieces we purchased in January are starting to arrive in the showroom.  It’s certainly worth dropping in for a look at the latest designs and trends, we think you’ll be impressed.
