Earlier this month we had the pleasure of attending the 78th annual Brussels Furniture Fair. With such a prominent furniture industry, Belgium was the perfect setting for this exhibition, featuring furnishings and accessories from around 300 manufacturers.
In the interest of sourcing unique designs, we find that these exhibitions, however big or small, offer great inspiration and insight into current trends.
With Denmark being a bordering country, we were pleased to see a fantastic range of Danish-style items from dining sets to lighting, which embodied the eclectic and high-quality style we were looking for. We were also delighted to see some unusual designs on display, from the somewhat more bespoke suppliers.
Mixing styles is certainly a massive trend in furniture design currently and we were particularly inspired by one dining set, crafted using railway sleepers, with a stunning chrome finish.
With rustic features and clean finishes, each dining set we picked up at the exhibition effectively combines traditional and contemporary styles. We loved the items featuring natural oak tops and finished with painted pedestals.
Also on offer from the impressive Danish manufacturers were very unique lighting features. Whether you choose to hang these stunning handmade items, available in various sizes, over a dining table or your sofa, these products are sure to make a statement, adding character to any room!
Aside from mixing materials, we also noticed a fantastic mix of colours, contrasting bright and natural shades, which is something we are now seeing more and more of. Adding brightly coloured chairs to your dining table offers an entirely differently look and feel to your home.
The exhibition was a great source of inspiration for us and we picked up some very special pieces, which we feel are extremely unique in design and will certainly add a little something different to your home.
