Nautical but nice.

15 September 2015

I’m sure most people would agree that our Scottish summer has been far from satisfactory this year, and it’s probable too that your summer holiday is already a distant memory by now. Why not hang on to the summer for as long as possible and bring a hint of beachy shores into your home with some of the lovely accessories we have in our showroom.

Nautical has been a big trend in home interiors of late, and we can see why. Who wouldn’t want a lingering reminder of seaside escapades? Our miniature sailing boats are amazing in their detail and would add a cheerful splash of colour to any room. They would also be an ideal gift for an avid sailor or a little adventurer.

With its full scale wooden oars, this quirky coat rack would bring life and personality to a hallway and is sure to delight visitors. It is fitted with four hooks and a basket for keys so provides both a practical and attractive storage solution.

For a more subtle nod to seafaring, how about these unusual copper lanterns? Copper has been another big story in interiors this season and these are particularly stunning, reminiscent of late night beachside BBQs and al fresco summer dining.

Or, literally bring a piece of beach into your home with this beautiful driftwood lamp to light up the cooler autumn nights ahead.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a nautical theme without some sealife creatures. Both the decorative blue whale sculpture and the lobster in a bell jar would help create the feeling of being beside the seaside in your very own home. They would be sure to spark conversation about trips gone by…. as well as inspiring those of the future of course.
