We may have left the European Union, but here at John Dick & Son, we still value our relationships with our European partners. These relationships have been nurtured over many years, and the values that attracted us in the first place still apply today.
Many of the manufacturers we work with have similar values to ours; they are committed to style, quality, innovation and very high levels of craftsmanship. Today, we are celebrating an Italian manufacturer that typifies all of these attributes, Cattelan Italia.
The Italians are always winners in our book, especially when it comes to styling and design. Renowned for beautiful cars, stylish clothing and luxurious leather goods, they are undoubtedly a very creative country. When it comes to furniture, they exude all of these qualities and more.
Like John Dick & Son, Cattelan Italia is a family business. Their story began in Italy in 1979, when Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan started their marble-based furniture company, making products such as dining and coffee tables.
The furniture trade is part of the Cattelan family’s heritage. Giorgio was the youngest of seven brothers, five of whom went into the furniture business. In 1995, his sons Lorenzo and Paolo joined the company, which now designs products in wood, glass, leather, and metal exported to 104 countries worldwide.
The furniture they create is stylish and modern, some of which wouldn’t look out of place in an art gallery. Yet, everything they make is highly functional and designed for everyday use. Using steel, glass, ceramic and wood, their craftsmen have managed to create a range of furniture that has become a firm favourite here at John Dick & Son.
The best way to truly appreciate the beauty and quality of the furniture is to see it for yourself, and you can do that at our showroom. We’d love to show you why we value our relationship with them and why, as a like-minded family business, we are proud to be able to offer it to you locally.
