We are lucky to have witnessed two great golfing events in Scotland in the last two weeks; the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart in Inverness, and 145th The Open Championship at Royal Troon in Ayrshire. Alex Noren was a worthy champion at Castle Stuart, and Henrik Stenson triumphed at Royal Troon. Much will be written about his final round battle with Phil Mickelson (a previous Scottish Open and Open Champion winner) for years to come, it was surely one of the greatest final round performances in the history of the championship.
So what do John Dick & Son have in common with Alex Noren and Henrik Stenson – and, for that matter, Phil Mickelson? They have enjoyed success at Castle Stuart and Royal Troon. Working closely with G1 Architects, our interior designers have created relaxing environments from both clubs. The last two weeks have brought back fantastic memories for us, seeing these two great clubs featured on the global stage has been almost as thrilling as the quality of golf we have witnessed from the world’s top golfers.
Below you can watch a short video taken at the time of the project to show the ‘fitting out’ day – at this speed we certainly couldn’t be accused of slow play, but it will give you an idea of the transformation that is possible with the right expert assistance.
