We’ve talked in the past about our delivery service and that we agree on a delivery time. So, you know when we will arrive so you can plan your day, but there’s much more to our free delivery service.
Free delivery is not uncommon, but do you compare what is included when you see the words – FREE DELIVERY? We are all very used to deliveries arriving on the doorstep. Usually, the delivery driver will knock on the door to check you are in and then take a quick picture of your package on the doorstep. They may bring it inside for you if it’s a furniture delivery, but that’s not even a given.
At John Dick & Son, free delivery means delivery, installation and removal of packaging for responsible disposal. For example, a recent delivery and installation of a bed, two bedside tables and a chest of drawers took two of our experienced furniture fitters over two hours to install. It is also worth noting the chest of drawers alone weighed 130kg (20 stone)!
We also go the extra mile to ensure your delivery will go exactly to plan. Last month, a customer was unsure whether the dining room table they wanted to buy would fit around the stairwell en route to their dining room. So, our furniture porters made an 8ft long wooden template of the tabletop and delivered it to the dining room before the customer confirmed their order.
So, consider what is included next time you are considering a furniture purchase. Will furniture experts deliver it? Will it be unpacked and installed by experienced fitters? Will they take you through every aspect of your new furniture and check you are 100% satisfied? And finally, will they take away the packaging and dispose of it responsibly?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, you need to consider whether you can do it yourself or the cost of hiring someone to do it for you.
We are very proud of our delivery service. We regularly receive thank-you calls from customers who didn’t fully appreciate the extent of the service and the lengths to which our staff will go to ensure the customer is happy with the furniture they have purchased.
