Cabins fit for a Princess…

Early in 2015 we worked with the team at Hebridean Island Cruises on the refurbishment of the public rooms on board the luxurious Hebridean Princess, this year we were delighted to be invited back to work with the team on the refurbishment of more than one third on the cabins.

With extremely limited time to carry out the changes, and taking into account the Christmas and New Year refit period, it was essential that we planned every detail in advance so that we could deliver the finished cabins in time for the new cruising season.  We are delighted with the final results and happy to share some images of the new look cabins which were all completed and ready for the ships return to passenger service at the beginning of March.

With eleven cabins to be refurbished, we were keen to achieve a level of continuity, but also a degree of individuality within each cabin.  Here is how John Dick & Son Managing Director, Bruce Dick, described the project when commenting for the Hebridean Island Cruises’ website, “We have used a contemporary woollen plaid from Mulberry as a base fabric which gives continuity throughout the cabins.  Inspired by the plaid we specified various complementary colours and textures as accent fabrics to give each cabin its own identity.  Respecting the age of the ship and working with luxurious linens and weaves we have brought the cabins up to date with a comfortable contemporary twist.”

We hope you will agree that the refurbished cabins appear luxurious, elegant and comfortable with a very definite Scottish feel.

Commenting about the refurbishment project on their website, Ken Charleson, Managing Director for Hebridean Island Cruises said: “We are delighted with the work carried out on 11 of our cabins by John Dick & Son.  The designers have really embraced our brief to create cabins with a true Scottish feel which I am certain will be enjoyed by our guests during the 2017 cruising season and beyond”.
