Recent Press coverage suggests that many people are focussing on home improvement and DIY projects during the lockdown period. You’ve more than likely seen the images of vast queues of socially distancing people in the B&Q car parks that confirm this is the case.
It’s hardly surprising; having spent so many days at home, it likely that people are noticing the shortcoming of their homes. This rush to the DIY outlets might be as a result of some routine maintenance requirement. Equally, it could be that the prolonged period of lockdown has highlighted some shortcomings in your home that you now have time to address. Or, it could be that you need a change of scenery; spending hour after hour with the same interior is bound to make you look for change.
We’ve heard of people changing room layouts; some to accommodate home working or schooling, others have done it just for the sake of change. Indeed, this may work in the short-term, and other simple changes such as lampshades and cushions covers will also help to freshen things up. Whatever the reason, it is worth changing things around to get the benefit of a fresh look and feel.
Of course, the amount you can do to an interior is minimal at the moment; access to a good choice of wall-coverings and curtain fabrics is limited, and browsing furniture showrooms is impossible. However, you may be starting to think about what you’d like to do in the future, so we thought we’d share a selection of room layouts from our range of manufacturers which may provide you with some inspiration.
